Any New Yorker who wants one can get three free meals a day at more than 400 Meal Hubs throughout the city. Meals can be picked up between 7:30 –11:30 am (for children and caregivers) and 11:30 – 1:30 pm (for adults). This week, no registration or documentation necessary. For more information, check the DOE’s website here.
Obtaining devices for remote learning:
Families that want to request a device should call DOE at 718-935-5100 and choose Option 5 on the menu for help getting a device with internet connection. Or they can fill out the Remote Learning Device Request form at https://coronavirus.
- Priority will be given to students most in need.
- All devices are granted on a temporary basis and will later need to be returned.
- There is a limit of one device per student. You must fill out a separate form for each student who needs a device.
- There is no need to call the DOE or 311 to check on the status of the device.
Remote Learning Technical Support:
The DOE is launching a family-facing Remote Learning Technical Support ticket system. Families (or someone on their behalf) can submit requests for technical support for a broad range of issues, including application support, lost, stolen, or broken devices, and delivery status, though the Technical Support for Families page. Note that when families select a topic and issue in the ticket submission form, the form will automatically list common resolutions to technical support problems; if the suggested resolutions do not resolve the family’s issue, they can continue to submit a tech support ticket by completing the form.
The District 3 Presidents’ Council has an overarching goal this year to outreach to as many D3 parents as we can. To further that effort, we have started a Google Group to help ALL D3 parents get important information about D3 events, CEC3 communications, admissions, meetings, committees, and workshops in our district. This group is named “NYC Community School District 3 Information,” and is for ANY D3 community member that wants to stay up-to-date on current issues and information pertaining to our elementary and middle schools, up to high school admissions. You DO NOT have to have a google account to join this group!
